About Brolos

 

As the premium rock lobster brand under the Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative, Brolos lobsters are wild caught 365 days a year from the pristine, crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Western Australia. The waters here are amongst the most pristine and unspoilt environments on the planet.  Indeed, it is thought that 50% of the rock lobster biomass begins life in and around the unique and untouched chain of islands called Abrolhos which the name Brolos is derived from.

 

The Brolos lobster, otherwise known as The Western Rock Lobster, scientifically known as Panulirus Cygnus, is a variety of the highly prized spiny rock lobster, with all the meat in the tail section, resulting in a higher meat to shell ratio. Brolos lobsters are acclaimed for its sweet and fresh, ocean taste, as well as it is medium/firm flesh.  They are also noted for their high nutritional value and protein content.

‘鲜 (Xian)’ demonstrates one of the very core product features of Brolos, which is freshness. With the strict limits on fishing, Brolos ensures the authenticity and freshness of lobsters and maintains the marine ecological balance synchronously. From 2017, fresh live Brolos lobsters can now be delivered directly to your door in China as fresh as the moment it was caught; from ocean to plate from as little as 3 days. All lobsters are inspected by hand, shipped live to China the day after they are caught. Brolos guarantees that every rock lobster delivered to China is caught, inspected, exported and sold directly by the fishermen in Western Australia.
